When the challenges and push-back of people start bringing me down, I go out in search of the simple – the reality – of living a good life. For me, this means driving down country roads, past open fields dotted with horses, cows, sheep and other lovely creatures. Yesterday was such a day for me, I needed an escape from the myriad of issues causing me pause and angst. I was rewarded when I came upon these beauties grazing and lazing in a field alongside an area roadway.

Your title ‘…simple things in life make my day…’ brought to my mind echoes of the drive from town to my cabin. No mater what problems that I faced that drive past millions of trees isolated from humanity was a personal decompression from the hectic rat race of civilized life to my uncomplicated life in the wilderness.

Very well said, I could not agree more. I drive a good distance to/from work each day and pass several farms, fields and lakes and goodness knows how many hundreds of trees. I consider the drive my mental saving grace.
