Blue Jays Rule the Local Roost
The jays have been busy this winter, scarfing up the peanuts as soon as I throw them out each morning. They've also taken to the new peanut/suet log feeder, to the chagrin of the woodpeckers who believe any and all suet feeders are theirs alone.
Woodpecker Happenings
Lots of woodpeckers have taken to the suet feeders over the last few weeks. Their human admirer has upgraded their previously boring suet cake feeder... to the more upscale and apparently supreme peanut / suet log.
Goose hunting gone (a)fowl
A falling goose hit a waterfowl hunter near the Miles River on the state's eastern shore, knocking him out and causing head and facial injuries. He's in stable condition.
